Growing Strong Roots ‒ CNA Mentoring Program

CNAs who are excellent caregivers and enjoy teaching others and are ready for a new challenge can be eligible for promotion to become a CNA Mentor. CNA Peer Mentors are specially trained to mentor newer CNA’s and provide support in the workplace so CNA’s can learn and grow in their positions with the goal that they too will be eligible for promotion to become a CNA Mentor. CNA mentoring is an ongoing, continual responsibility, as each CNA mentor is expected to uphold a strong commitment to the “Kirkhaven Way” and is accountable for consistently demonstrating leadership skills and clinical excellence. CNA Peer Mentors receive an additional $2 per hour as part of their promotion. Experienced CNA Peer Mentors are eligible to be promoted to a leadership position as House Manager which can allow them to earn $5 -$10 more each hour.

LPN Career Ladder at Kirkhaven

LPN’s with three to five years’ experience can be eligible for promotion to become a LPN Peer Mentor. LPN Peer Mentors are specially trained to support and guide LPN’s in providing compassionate care that promotes meaningful living. LPN Peer Mentors encourage the team of LPN’s to learn and grow in their positions so that they too become eligible for promotion to become an LPN Peer Mentor. As a benefit, Kirkhaven has a discount for continued education through Roberts Wesleyan College for LPN’s and other employees to pursue advanced education.
